Tourists for the day

At the end of September, my sister Stephanie came to visit. It was an absolute blast having her here! Ben, Jack and I loved spending time with her. She laughs at just about everything and her smile is very contagious. It's hard not to be happy when you're around her.

One of the days she was here, we left the boys home with Drew while Steph and I spent the day in San Francisco. It's been at least 20 years since she has been there so we spent the day sightseeing around the city.

Waiting for the bart (the metro system in the bay area)

In line for the cable car. Neither of us had been on one and I'm glad we got to try it out

It was a great day and I loved spending time with my sister. Wish I could do it more often.

After almost 4 years...

I think I am ready to accept the fact that Ben is not going to go to bed early. He is a night person and definitely not a morning person. I have fought this for awhile and I am giving in. I can put him to bed early but it's only going to lead to hours of putting him back in bed, getting frustrated with him and lots of crying. Whether he sleeps for 9 hours or 12, takes a nap or not, has a busy day, it doesn't matter. He doesn't want to miss out on anything. You know our evenings here are exciting after the boys go to bed. Cleaning, laundry, finally getting to take a shower in peace, packing lunches for the next day.

Luckily, little Jack Henry loves his sleep and goes to bed early each night without a big fight.

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's superman

We spent the afternoon at Michael's yesterday and saw the air show that was going on for fleet week.

Of course, Ben wanted Michael to read his super hero books to him

Lots of new things for Jack to explore

Ben was mad at Jack for sitting on his cape

The view from Michael's window

I spent the afternoon surrounded by boys, football on the tv, numerous attempts of Ben trying to make a basket, super hero talk

Jack wanted to see the jets too

and here, he is not too happy about having to take a picture

we made our way out to the roof to watch the Blue Angels fly

Jack climbed all the way up this roof before dad finally stopped him

Looking for trouble (this was right after I caught him pick up a dorito off the ground and try to eat it. Don't worry, I stopped him before it went into his mouth)

The beautiful views from the roof top

Spidermen

Superman and his mini me

The jets were so loud flying over us

Jack loves his dad, all day he goes around saying "daddy"

He was not happy about the loud noise up there
