Sha Sha Ben

Sha sha is what Ben calls soccer. Yesterday was Ben's first soccer practice. We signed him up for a Saturday afternoon, parent/child soccer team. It's for 2 and 3 year old children and they mostly work on basic skills and exposing the children to working with other children. All day yesterday, Ben was so excited to go to his soccer game as he called it. He kept telling us he wanted to be the goalie.

Once he was out there, he loved it. At any given time, about half of the children were either crying or wandering off, but not Ben. He was a good sport the whole time and followed directions quite well.

Jack and I sat and watched the boys play but unfortunately, we weren't too close to them so the pictures didn't turn out very well.

Jack was a happy boy watching his brother play soccer

Time to vote

We are always getting different opinions about who the boys look like. When Drew is out with Ben, people tell him that Ben looks just like him but then when I am out with Ben, they tell me he looks just like me. No one really says who they think Jack looks like. I guess we will be able to get a better idea as he gets a little older.

Who do you think they look more like, mom or dad? If you need a little help, use these pictures to help you decide. Then vote in the poll on the sidebar.

eta: I changed the poll so that you could do multiple votes. The old format only allowed one vote per computer and I know some people may have more people voting than they do computers. So even though it says multiple votes allowed, please do one vote per person.

Bringing it back

I've been pretty sporadic on the posting lately. I will do a few post and then disappear for a week. I know there are some of you that enjoy seeing the updates and probably get tired of seeing the same old post pop up every time you visit the blog. I'm going to change that by bringing back

"Picture (or video) of the day."

I did this back in January and it really encouraged me to take more pictures and to post them more often. Starting October 1, look for my daily posts. If you have any suggestions or requests for pictures or videos you would like me take, let me know.

The musician in the family

Is definitely not Drew or myself. Ben has taken on that role and he's pretty good at it. Ben loves music, especially instruments. His favorites to play are the drums and guitar. While at the boardwalk this past weekend, Ben had no interest in any of the games there. He wanted to play the drums and guitar. He didn't care if you put tokens in. He made his own music. It was fun to watch him so into it.

We live close to a high school and now that school is back in session, we have been hearing the marching band practicing in the afternoons. Ben loves to listen to them. Twelve years from now, there's a good chance he'll be out on the football field. Whether he will be running with a ball or marching with the band, we won't know for awhile.

Ready to go

I think Jack likes the camera

Did you notice the eyebrows on this kid? I think they might be darker and thicker than mine.

Excited to see this little face

We found out today that Luke will be coming to visit us in two weeks. My mom and Tom have been planning on coming up for a long weekend and now Sarah and Luke are coming with them. I am so excited to see everyone. The boys are going to have fun playing together. My mom will get to have all of her grandsons together which doesn't happen often. It's going to be a great weekend. A chaotic weekend. We're used to that in this house.

Isn't this picture of Luke absolutely adorable. I can't wait to see all of his cuteness in person.

New videos

Three new videos of the little ones

Bulgy FAIL

Saturday afternoon was spent at the boardwalk. Ben told us he wanted to ride on Bulgy, the whale. A little surprised that he wanted to go on a ride by himself but we went for it. It was going well at first.

He sat down

Got buckled in

Then realized that he was riding this one alone

That didn't go over too well with Ben

No Bulgy ride for Ben

Jack finally gets a taste of food

Jack ate oatmeal

Doesn't look too appetizing

He might have agreed

It's been awhile since Ben has eaten baby food

I forgot how messy it can be

and sticky

It's still exciting though

Our little Jack is growing up

In fact, it won't be long before I make a new post

announcing that Jack is crawling

Ahh! we are not ready for this
