Gym Class
These were taken on Ben's Birthday by his gym teacher. I got a break as Drew and Cary joined Ben in class. Ben and I usually go on Wednesday mornings but as you can see in the pictures, there is a lot of hands on involvement and I will be getting to the point soon where I won't be able to do much of it (especially after the baby comes). Therefore, we decided that when the new semester starts in a few weeks, it will become an activity for Ben and dad to do together on Saturday mornings.
Christmas Pictures
Wearing his Christmas pajamas...
Trying out his new computer Santa brought him
Holding Aunt Sarah's dog. Definitely Ben sized, she only weighs 4 pounds
Taking his new wagon for a spin
Of course, he wanted to hold his football the whole time
He is wearing his cowboy boots. At first, Drew was against me getting them but once he saw how cute they were on Ben, he agreed that it was ok for him to wear them
One of his new favorite hobbies
He could almost hold her by himself
Could you be anymore excited Benjamin?
I had this idea in my head about what Christmas morning would be like. Ben would be excited about all of his presents and ripping the wrapping paper off of them. It unfortunately did not go that way. He was so overwhelmed with everything that was going on and content playing with the first toy he opened.
You will see his "enthusiasm" in the video

Our Two Year Old...
It's been 4 days since Ben has turned two. I think he became a little more energized when he became two. It's like as soon as he turned another year older, he realized it. He has been having a lot of fun with his new toys and is on the go ALL DAY LONG!
Here are some pictures from his Birthday. This is shortly after waking up in the morning. It looks like dad is still half asleep.
His new train table from mom and dad
Trying it out for the first time
Ben isn't potty trained yet (he does have a little toilet though but doesn't do much with it yet) but I've put underwear on him a few times to see what he does. So far, he hasn't had any accidents in them (granted, the longest he wears them for is about 20 minutes). It was pretty cute watching him play basketball in them.
It was just 5 of us for Ben's birthday but I still decorated with Ben's favorite thing... footballs.
After finishing his cake
We had to get a picture of the two of us together in our red and white stripes.
Getting into the Christmas spirit...

"Happy Birthday" gone bad
When it was time for cake last night, we all started to sing "Happy Birthday" to Ben. As you will see, it started out good but quickly went downhill. He did enjoy his cake though and of course, he made quite the mess. It was straight up to the bath when he was done.

Happy Birthday to my sweet Benjamin
Today, my sweet little guy is two. He really is growing up and I love the person he is becoming. Of course, as his mother, I think he is perfect. He really is a great little boy though. I am pretty sure that we lucked out with him. He is a good mix of his mom and dad. He's got his mother's feistiness and his dad's sweet and calm demeanor. He's a picky eater like his mom and luckily, coordinated like his dad. He's got his mom's smile and seems to be left handed like his dad. He goes to his dad when he wants to play and have fun and to his mom when he needs a hug or when he's upset. Every day gets better and better with Ben. Just when you think it can't get any better than it already is, you find yourself enjoying each day more. It's so easy to take your children for granted. From the fact that you are able to have them to their health and well-being. You assume that everything will always be good with them and try not to think about the bad that could affect their lives. From the very beginning, Ben has taught me that you can't take things for granted. Things will not always go as planned. You will not always have control over everything. For the past two years, he has reminded me of that. He has taught me more in his short life than anyone else has taught me in my whole life. He has taught me a new way to love, to enjoy life and how to be a mom. He really has brought so much happiness into my life and I'm pretty sure that he's pretty happy himself. I hope the years keep getting better for him and that he continues to possess all of the great qualities that make him who he is. I hope he continues to take after his dad and learns from him. I hope he likes being an older brother and has a wonderful relationship with his brother. I hope he sets goals for his future and works hard to meet them but I also hope he is able to enjoy being a child for awhile before having to grow up. I hope he marries someone who likes her mother in law. I hope when he is older, he has the kind of relationship with his parents that we have with our parents. Most of all, I hope he has a good life and has fun.
Happy Birthday my sweet boy. I love you so much!
This boy doesn't want to stop
From the time Ben woke up this morning, he has been on the go (except for a 2.5 hour nap, thank goodness). He has been so overwhelmed and excited about all of his new presents and just the whole idea of his birthday that he is trying to take in as much as he can He doesn't want to stop to eat anything. He seriously has been running around all day, tiring us all out. His bedtime is coming up soon and I think we are all going to sleep very well tonight.
Here he is playing with one of his new toys, a basketball hoop. At first, he was going up to the basket and placing the ball in there. By tonight, he is making shots from 3 feet away. Amazing how quickly he is catching on. I will post a new video soon of his new skills he acquired today.

Pictures of our new house
Until the upstairs is completely unpacked, all you'll get to see is the downstairs for now. Here is the kitchen...
