So many choices...

We will be getting Ben his own potty training toilet soon, just to get him used to the idea. I know it will be awhile before he is ready to be potty trained but until then, I want him to get used to having his own toilet and maybe start learning what it is used for. I figure, it can't hurt.

I was online at Babies R Us tonight looking at the selection they've got and it sure did give me a good laugh (and Drew too). I thought I would share some of the funny ones with you all.

This is the kind of toilet that a lot of guys would probably enjoy...

This one just isn't right...

Drew says that this would be a fun one since you can ride around while doing your business...

I have no words for this one, except for where is the hole?

We will probably end up going with something a little more simple, like this one...

There is no denying it...

Our baby has a penis!

It was pretty obvious as soon as we got a view of the baby's legs. There it was, just sticking out. No mistaking it!

Ben is still too young to understand it all, but he will be getting a best friend. We are very excited to see our two boys grow up together. Drew will speak from experience when he says how great it is to grow up with a brother.

Here are a couple of other pictures of the little guy, baby "Jack"...

He has his hand up to his mouth here. I think he spends a lot of time sucking his thumb.

He really has his legs stretched out here. Almost looks like a skeleton. He would not stay still the entire time we were watching him. He was constantly kicking and swinging his arms around.

The first sign of fall...

After some very hot weather the past 2 months, we are finally starting to feel cooler weather. Thank goodness! Drew had to work all weekend so Ben and I were excited when he got home this evening and headed out to the park. You wouldn't know by looking at what Drew was wearing, but it was actually very chilly out. Ben had a blast exploring the park and is getting very adventurous. There were a group of kids playing football close by and Ben was very intrigued by them and kept saying "football."

A whole ice cream cone!

The other night, the three of us went to a little street festival in downtown Brentwood (it was our first time there). Ben very much enjoyed himself as he people watched, danced to the band that was playing and ate a whole ice cream cone, yes a whole one all by himself.

I think he looks so big in this picture.

This was halfway through the ice cream cone. I think cookies and cream was a big hit.

He was making a huge mess but he was enjoying it so much that we couldn't stop him.

Almost done! I thought he would be on a sugar high all night but he was sleeping by 8:00.

I change my mind...

I don't think that this baby is obviously a boy based on the ultrasound picture below anymore. After about ten people telling me that is not a penis and most likely the umbilical cord, I finally believe them all. That's not to say that it's not a boy, but I think for right now, it's still up in the air. 50/50 boy or girl.

We have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday, October 12 and as long as the baby is cooperating we should find out if baby is a he or she.

Pictures of Ben will be coming soon... I promise.

I am pretty sure this baby is a...

BOY!!!

No, they did not confirm it or even make a guess at our ultrasound on Tuesday but look at the first picture, in between the two leg stubs. What does it look like? Some people are telling me that it could be the umbilical cord but it really does look like a penis.

In a few weeks, we'll find out for sure but until then, all my money is riding on a boy.

Here are two other shots from our ultrasound we had the other day. Baby is about 3 inches tall now and very active. We got to see both hands and all of the fingers which kept covering it's eyes. Hopefully I will be able to start feeling movement in about a month or so.

Bedtime...

Before going to bed, Ben has his little routine...

First, he likes to get in some last minute playtime

Which includes, a story or two

and lots of smiles

His favorite place to sit is on dad's lap

Where he turns the pages while looking at the pictures

Before getting distracted by the football game dad has on tv

Then it's off to the bathroom to brush his teeth

After mom brushes them, he gets a turn also

There are no smiles when it's time to go in his crib

and sometimes he even tries to do this

He cries for a minute before falling asleep and most nights we're lucky to get 12 or 13 hours until he wakes up and we start the day all over.

Such a little ham...

I was eating an apple this afternoon and Ben decides that he wants to finish it. Here is Ben hamming it up while eating MY apple...

Labor Day weekend...

Here are some pictures from 2 weeks ago when we were in Pismo Beach. Ben loved the beach! I wasn't sure how he would like it. As soon as we got there, he was ready to play in the sand and the water.

What will it be...

I am sure you have all heard the news now... Ben is going to be a BIG brother. In the weeks to come, we will be finding out if Ben will be having a little brother or a little sister. Will the new name for the blog be changed to "The Little Men"? Or will it be changed to "The Little Man and the Little Lady"? If you haven't already made your guess, do it soon. Once we find out the gender, the game will be locked and we will have to wait until the little bean makes his/her appearance to see who was the closest guess.

He's become a regular...

For only being 21 months, Ben sure has flown a lot. His first flight was when he was 7 months old and he has made a total of 6 round trip flights since then. Our latest flight was last week and thank goodness it was a short one. It used to be easy to fly with Ben, that is before he was able to really move around. He has a hard time sitting still for more than 5 minutes so you can imagine what it would be like to fly with him. These pictures aren't very good (out of focus and bad lighting) but I thought they were funny. The plane was pretty empty on both flights so we had no one sitting on either side of us. Therefore, Ben sat in his own seat for part of the flights and even figured our how to work the seatbelt pretty quickly.

Family Trees...

Drew really likes random t-shirts. When I first met him, a lot of his shirts came from the thrift store (which he hasn't shopped at since I've known him). One of my favorites he had was a yellow t-shirt with a family tree on the front that included a bunch of random names. I think what made it so funny was that he had no idea whose family shirt he was wearing. Two weeks ago, we were in Pismo Beach for a Mosley (Cary's side of the family) family get together. They had t-shirts made for everyone that very much resembled the old yellow shirt Drew had (too bad we don't have it anymore). The other night when he got home from work, he put it on so after Ben's bath, I put his on him to get some pictures of the two of them. They both looked pretty cute in their shirts. I can't help but love my boys.
