Baby Luke

This is my adorable nephew, Luke. He is just three days older than Jack which still amazes me that two cousins could be born so close together. Our due dates were 26 days apart but Luke decided to come a week late and Jack came two weeks early. The only bad part about them being born so close together is that we have had to wait until we could see Luke. The good news though is that we will finally get to meet him next week. We are leaving on Sunday to head down south and will spend 10 days down there. We are so excited for our trip and to see everyone. Ben will once again be the center of attention which he will love. All of our family down south will get to meet Jack. Hopefully we'll even be able to relax a little on our trip. Oh wait, we have a two month old and a two year old, relaxation is no longer a word that applies to our lives.

I will be taking lots of pictures during our trip and will try to post them often. It will be fun to finally see the three boys together. My parents had three girls and now they have three grandsons. My dad has been waiting for years to finally outnumber us girls and his time has finally come.

Isn't he so cute. When Ben sees his picture, he knows who baby Luke is and will say baby Lu.

Happy Memorial Day

It's the end to a good weekend. I always enjoy three day weekends, mostly because we get to have Drew home for an extra day. We started the weekend on Saturday with gym class and ended it today with a bbq with some of my friends from college. Ben loved having company and was the center of attention. He spent four hours going from person to person, wanting each of them to play with him. They were all good sports and he definitely entertained them all.

These are from today...

We don't know why he was lifting up his shirt

I love these boys

My friends brought Ben a sprinkler attachment for the hose and
I think it's safe to say that he really enjoyed it.

Jack wasn't enjoying his time outside as much as Ben

Jack's stats

Last Wednesday, Jack has his two month appointment. The doctor checked him out and said he looked great. Unfortunately the visit ended with three vaccination shots. I forgot how hard it was to hold a baby while they are getting their shots. It's a delayed reaction and they don't start crying until after the first needle is out. Poor Jack was so mad and turned bright red as he screamed. You could tell that he was uncomfortable the rest of the day. He was back to himself by the next day though.

Jack's stats:

Weight: 12 lbs 11 ozs, which is right around the 50th percentile
Length: 23 inches, which is in between the 25th and 50th percentile
Head circumference: I don't remember what the measurement was but it was around the 50th percentile.

It looks like he is growing right on schedule. It's hard to believe that the size he is now is the size that Ben was when he was 6-7 months old.

The boys

These are from Friday morning. We were hanging out in Ben's room and of course he was being silly. It looks like Jack is almost as big as Ben in some of these pictures, but he's not.

Maybe a green thumb?

Ben and I did some planting on Sunday afternoon. We planted tomatoes and pumpkins. We'll have to see if they actually grow. I know Ben's Grandma will be happy to know that he very much enjoyed doing this and is very proud of his plants.

Filling the pots with dirt

Lewey kept his distance, probably in fear that Ben would throw dirt on him (not that it matters since he is so dirty anyways. Good thing he is getting groomed in a week)

We made quite the mess

He wanted to take his plants with him everywhere

San Francisco zoo

On Saturday, we all headed across the bay to the zoo for the afternoon. We met Drew's brother Michael and his girlfriend, Kelly there. They got a good taste of what it's like having two little ones between strollers, diaper bags, having to stop for feedings and diaper changes and keeping up with a two year old.

Jack spent most of the afternoon sleeping

I thought it was a little odd that someone would wear a bee costume to the zoo

Ben wanted his uncle Michael to carry him around

He did wake up for awhile

The adventures of a 2 year old

It is a beautiful day here and a perfect day to be outside. We spent some time before lunch playing in the back. Ben definitely made the most of his time out there.

Ben started in the cozy coupe

before turning on Jack's bouncer

he then wanted to go for a ride in his wagon

which lasted for about 2 minutes

before he decided to take a couple of swings at the baseball

luckily, this little one stays in one place

he's moved onto something else

and then gets distracted when he realizes he hasn't played golf today

so he does a little putting

Lewey lays there quietly, hoping that Ben doesn't notice him and start harassing him

I can't resist taking some more pictures of this adorable face

I tell Ben it is time to come inside for lunch and he walks the
other way which is his way of saying I don't think so.
