Happy Easter

Coming down the stairs this morning.

Excited with what he sees.

His first chocolate bunny.

He got upset when I took his chocolate away from him.

We woke up to some snow this morning. So much for our Easter Egg hunt being outdoors.

We have been trying to teach Ben where some of his body parts are and this morning we asked him where his nose was and this is what he did.

Fun in the snow...

The snow was so deep that it was hard to pull the sled.

He was starting to have fun.

Don't worry, even though it looks like he is about to tip over, he wasn't.

About to go down a little hill.

He did not want to smile for a family shot.

Snow Day!

We got enough snow over the past 24 hours that they have pretty much shut everything down. Ft. Carson will be closed all day which means a "snow day" for Drew. This means pancakes for breakfast, lots of playing with Ben and hopefully some sledding this afternoon.

These pictures were taken yesterday morning. Every night, I stack the pillows on our bed on the floor next to a chair in our bedroom. In the morning, Ben uses the pillows to help him climb onto the chair.

Always keeping us entertained

Benjamin is always doing things that makes us laugh. Yesterday, he did this..

There's a Blizzard out there!

The current temperature outside is 18 degrees which isn't so bad (except for all of you in California who are probably thinking, "do I know what 18 degrees feels like?"), but with the wind chill, it is saying -13. Now that is cold! We are having a so-called blizzard that is supposed to last through tomorrow. It looks like we will be spending the next couple of days inside.

Ben loves to look at the snow. Here he is shortly after it started snowing late this morning. It might look funny to see him in a short sleeved shirt while looking out at the snow but don't worry, our thermostat is set at 72 right now making it nice and toasty in the house.

This is about an hour after it started snowing. It didn't take long for everything to get covered.

This is about 4 hours after it started snowing. We are already getting drifts.

A day in the park...

Anytime the sun is out and it is over 60 degrees, people here love to be outdoors. By March, everyone is sick of the cold and snowy days so when the weather starts to turn nice, you can find everyone outside enjoying the beautiful weather. We decided to take advantage of it and headed over to the park with Benjamin. Unfortunately it was really crowded so we were kind of limited on where Ben could be without getting trampled by kids running around and riding their scooters.

Another cute one...

Benjamin at his cutest...

It was a cold day here so after I got Ben all bundled up to go out, I had to get pictures of how cute he looked. Click on the second to the last one to make it bigger so you can see how sweet his face is.

This is what it's come to...

Ever since Ben figured out how to get past the baby gate and up the stairs, I feel like I am constantly stopping him from going over there. He knows he shouldn't be doing it. As soon as he sees that I am coming after him he gives me a grin and then moves even faster. To keep him from going over there as much, I have barricaded him in our family room. I don't expect it to work for long but even if it gives us 20 minutes of not going to the stairs every minute, I will be happy.

Despite being blocked in, he is still having fun playing this afternoon.

New Pictures...

I added an album onto the shutterfly site with pictures from the last month. A lot of them are ones that I have already put on the blog but some of them will be new to you all.

Hope you enjoy them!

A new background...

I know you are probably thinking that this new background looks pretty girly and doesn't quite go with the title, "The Little Man" but oh well. I thought it was really cute and appropriate for the spring.

It's hard to believe that it is 7:00 and still light out. We did not know about the time change and when we woke up this morning, we were a little confused as to why our phones were saying it was later than what we thought it was. We all had a great weekend and enjoyed some time at home. Friday night, Drew and I went on date night to dinner and a movie which doesn't happen often. We always love our time with the two of us but do miss Ben quite a bit. There was some crazy weather here yesterday. It would snow a bunch for an hour, enough to cover everything and then it would melt right away. It did this three times throughout the day. March is the snowiest month in Colorado so I am sure we will have a few more days of snow left.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend also. All of you in California are probably enjoying way better weather than we are.

They meet once again...

The last time Ben saw his friend Mallory was 7 months ago, right before they moved away to Nebraska. This is the two of them, Ben was just about 8 months old and Mallory was 5 months old.

They met again earlier today, at Mallory's 1st Birthday party. It was really hard to get a picture of the two of them where they are both looking at the camera. This is the best we could do.

Ben was out of his comfort zone at the party and didn't smile for the first hour we were there. There were a lot of babies there, about 6 girls and Ben.

For some reason, Mallory was drawn to Drew. He was the only one she would come up to and she kept giving him hugs.

Ben on a Friday afternoon...

Even though he still doesn't have much hair, the hair that he does have is getting curly

He can be so serious

and then a minute later, he is happy as can be

About to move the gate and go up the stairs. He probably does this about 40 times a day.

Being a sweet boy

Ben's first trip to the beach

Last Friday while Ben and I were in California, we stopped by the beach for a few minutes. This was Ben's first time feeling the sand and he wasn't a fan.

This was him unhappy that he got sand on his hands. He kept trying to figure out how to get it off. I guess he doesn't like dirty hands. I think he takes after both of his parents when they were younger.
