A day in the park...

Anytime the sun is out and it is over 60 degrees, people here love to be outdoors. By March, everyone is sick of the cold and snowy days so when the weather starts to turn nice, you can find everyone outside enjoying the beautiful weather. We decided to take advantage of it and headed over to the park with Benjamin. Unfortunately it was really crowded so we were kind of limited on where Ben could be without getting trampled by kids running around and riding their scooters.

It was a cold day here so after I got Ben all bundled up to go out, I had to get pictures of how cute he looked. Click on the second to the last one to make it bigger so you can see how sweet his face is.

This is what it's come to...

Ever since Ben figured out how to get past the baby gate and up the stairs, I feel like I am constantly stopping him from going over there. He knows he shouldn't be doing it. As soon as he sees that I am coming after him he gives me a grin and then moves even faster. To keep him from going over there as much, I have barricaded him in our family room. I don't expect it to work for long but even if it gives us 20 minutes of not going to the stairs every minute, I will be happy.

Despite being blocked in, he is still having fun playing this afternoon.

I added an album onto the shutterfly site with pictures from the last month. A lot of them are ones that I have already put on the blog but some of them will be new to you all.

A new background...

I know you are probably thinking that this new background looks pretty girly and doesn't quite go with the title, "The Little Man" but oh well. I thought it was really cute and appropriate for the spring.

It's hard to believe that it is 7:00 and still light out. We did not know about the time change and when we woke up this morning, we were a little confused as to why our phones were saying it was later than what we thought it was. We all had a great weekend and enjoyed some time at home. Friday night, Drew and I went on date night to dinner and a movie which doesn't happen often. We always love our time with the two of us but do miss Ben quite a bit. There was some crazy weather here yesterday. It would snow a bunch for an hour, enough to cover everything and then it would melt right away. It did this three times throughout the day. March is the snowiest month in Colorado so I am sure we will have a few more days of snow left. 

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend also. All of you in California are probably enjoying way better weather than we are.

They meet once again...

The last time Ben saw his friend Mallory was 7 months ago, right before they moved away to Nebraska. This is the two of them, Ben was just about 8 months old and Mallory was 5 months old.

They met again earlier today, at Mallory's 1st Birthday party. It was really hard to get a picture of the two of them where they are both looking at the camera. This is the best we could do.

Ben was out of his comfort zone at the party and didn't smile for the first hour we were there. There were a lot of babies there, about 6 girls and Ben. 

For some reason, Mallory was drawn to Drew. He was the only one she would come up to and she kept giving him hugs.

Ben's first trip to the beach

Last Friday while Ben and I were in California, we stopped by the beach for a few minutes. This was Ben's first time feeling the sand and he wasn't a fan. 

This was him unhappy that he got sand on his hands. He kept trying to figure out how to get it off. I guess he doesn't like dirty hands. I think he takes after both of his parents when they were younger.

He's really walking!

Since last night, Ben has taken off with the walking. Everyone kept saying that he would just take off one day and it's true.

Ben has outsmarted us again...

Muscle Baby...

He might look little and innocent but he has you all fooled. This little guy is actually pretty strong and demonstrates it in many ways. He has his own little chair that we keep next to Drew's recliner and Ben has figured out how to climb up his chair onto the recliner. He will push the kitchen chairs across the kitchen floor into the sliding glass door. Today, he figured out how to turn over his baby gate at the bottom of the stairs. This isn't just some little baby gate. It is a heavy wooden one that is pretty sturdy. I will definitely get video of this soon. It is a funny sight watching this little baby turning something like that over.
